We have recently been made aware of bad actors fraudulently posing as our business through lookalike websites, emails, social media accounts, phone calls, and text messages. These individuals often ask for payment or persuade others into sharing sensitive banking information while claiming to offer our services.

‍These impersonators are not affiliated with Wordnality and our publishing services. They are not part of our staff and are in no way affiliated with us. Often these impersonators use materials with Wordnality logos, staff names, and website domains that closely resemble our official brand and websites. Wordnality will never ask for sensitive information such as login credentials or banking details via email or phone.

Wordnality and Lightning Source do not currently offer editing, proofreading, or design services for authors. Wordnality and Lightning Source do not require customers to print copies of their books to make them available for global distribution.

How to Protect Yourself
  • Do not click on links or open attachments from unknown or suspicious email senders.
  • Do not reply to emails from unknown senders, or attempt to contact them via phone, text, or social media.
  • Always hover over the sender’s email address to verify it matches a legitimate Wordnality domain.
  • Do not provide sensitive information such as account passwords or, credit card numbers, or personal identification in response to an unknown sender.
  • Be cautious of urgent or threatening language in emails (example: immediate payment required).
  • Check for spelling errors, odd phrasing, or incorrect logos (example: “wordnality.co” instead of wordnality.com”) .
  • Log in to your Wordnality-associated  account directly  (for example,  https://myaccount.wordnality.com/ rather than through links provided in an email.  Be cautious of any contract offers, including advancements).
  • Wordnality does not offer services such as layout design, cover design, ISBN setup, editing, or proofreading.
  • Report suspicious activity to local law enforcement or to the FBI. In the US, you may report fraudulent activity to  https://www.ic3.gov/.

Please be aware that www.wordnality.com is the only official website for Wordnality. To protect yourself, always verify that you are using our official site. We strongly encourage anyone targeted by publishing scams to report the matter to their local law enforcement agency, the FBI's  Internet Crimes Complaint Center, and the FTC’s fraud reporting website. These databases are actively monitored by law enforcement; reports from targeted authors have spurred investigations that have so far resulted in a number of arrests.

If you receive a message claiming to be from Wordnality that offers publishing assistance and you suspect it may be fraudulent, please report it to us at [email protected].
